Questions, answered clearly

Custom wedding song questions, answered before you begin.

From the free preview to corrections and personal-use rights, here are the important details about creating your personalized song.

Is the preview really free?

Yes. You complete the questionnaire and receive a private streaming preview without entering a card or choosing a package. There is no obligation to buy. See how the personalized song process works.

When will I hear it?

Your private preview is prepared within 24 hours after you submit and confirm your story details. That promise applies to the preview; revisions, final files, and premium extras may take additional time.

What does the preview include?

It is a hand-selected 30–45 second excerpt of the song, chosen for emotional impact. When possible, it includes a name, meaningful memory, or emotional payoff. It is not automatically the chorus and is not the full song.

How is my story turned into a song?

Your confirmed details are shaped through structured creative direction, modern music tools, and human review. The review checks facts, pronunciation, must-include details, musical flow, and production quality. We do not claim every note is composed entirely by a human.

Do I approve the lyrics first?

No. You approve the source facts—names, pronunciation, relationships, dates, and must-include details—before production. The full lyrics remain part of the creative reveal when you hear the preview.

Can I request changes?

Production-caused factual, pronunciation, missing approved-detail, and serious audio/file issues are covered corrections. Preference changes, new facts, genre changes, vocal-direction changes, or major rewrites are discretionary revisions: Essential includes none, First Dance includes one round, and Wedding Keepsake includes two. Compare the song packages and revision options.

What is the Optional First-Dance Edit?

It is a shorter version of the exact same finished recording, included with the First Dance and Wedding Keepsake packages. Choose about 90 seconds, about 2 minutes, or let us use our best judgment, then tell us anything that must remain. The complete song is always included too.

Can I ask for a song that sounds exactly like an artist?

No. You can share a reference song to communicate mood, energy, tempo, and instrumentation, but it is not used to copy a composition or imitate a specific person’s voice. Broad musical characteristics are the best guide.

How private is my preview?

The preview uses a long private link, expires by default after seven days, is marked noindex, and plays through a controlled streaming endpoint. Please share the link only with people you trust. Like any audible media, playback cannot be guaranteed against recording. Read more in the Privacy Policy.

What can I do with the finished song?

Your license covers personal wedding or event use, personal keepsakes, ordinary noncommercial social sharing, your own noncommercial wedding or event video, and sharing with wedding vendors solely for playback at your event. Commercial resale, sublicensing, stock-library distribution, paid promotion, and monetized business use are not included. Review the complete Personal Song License.

Is copyright registration or absolute uniqueness guaranteed?

No. We do not guarantee copyright registration, absolute uniqueness, or exclusive worldwide ownership of a composition or musical style. Please review the license and seek professional legal advice for any rights question.

What if Lasting Lyrics cannot deliver?

Before purchase, there is nothing to refund. For a live paid order that cannot be delivered substantially as described, we will first try to deliver or correct it; if we cannot, you may request a refund before final delivery or download. A completed custom download is generally non-refundable, subject to the remedies and legal rights in the Refund Policy.
